Closure Alert: Utility Work Crossing Main Street

As part of the ongoing reconstruction of 6th Street from Lincoln Avenue to Kelly Avenue, utility relocations along the corridor will be crossing the Main Street intersection beginning Wednesday, March 13th, 2024. This utility work includes the replacement and relocation of water lines ahead of road construction.

The intersection of 6th and Main Streets will be temporarily closed on Wednesday, March 13th, 2024 beginning in the morning to allow contractors to safely perform work and pour flowable fill. Once completed, metal plates will be laid to protect the flowable fill until it finishes drying and allow vehicular traffic to pass through the intersection. Contractors estimate that plates will be removed sometime Friday  and have planned another temporary closure at that time to allow workers to safely remove the plates.
